The Berea Black History & Heritage in 2024, presented by the Berea Arts Council in partnership with Our Land of Promise is a project that celebrated the rich and enduring legacy of Berea’s Black community, tracing its roots back to 1769.

Through exhibits, storytelling, and community engagement, the project highlighted the contributions, struggles, and achievements of Black residents who shaped Berea’s cultural and historical landscape. Supported by organizations such as The Kentucky Arts Council, Kentucky Humanities, Partners for Rural Impact, Mountain Association, and BG Community Fund, this initiative ensured that these stories were preserved and shared for future generations.
