Walk with the Arts 2018!

The 12th annual Walk with the Arts

An amazing day was had by over 950 4th graders from Madison County and dozens of volunteers, teachers, and artists on a beautiful September 28th day!  The event features 20 artists stations with 4th graders visiting each station throughout the day!  Students have the opportunity to interact with a variety of artists demonstrating and providing hands-on activities in their media.  Students saw  demonstrations or experience hands-on activities in clay, weaving , felting, woodworking and painting.  They attended two music performances, one by Mitch Barrett and the other by Steve Johnson.  They also saw a drama performance, and participated in traditional dance.

Over 100 volunteers help to keep this an amazing day for everyone.  We also partner with the Youth Leadership Madison County that helps as docents for the classes!  Foley Middle School Gifted Students overseeing the weaving stations and painting Berea Rocks!!
