The Berea Arts Council is presenting it second annual “Teen Art Show” from March 8 through March 23. All teen artists from Madison County are invited to participate in the show. Two and three-dimensional artwork will be accepted and there is no cost to be in the show. All artwork must be original and ready to hang or display. The two-week exhibit will include an artist reception on Saturday March 9 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. The Berea Arts Council’s goal in organizing this exhibit is to provide a showcase each year for the work of the teens of Madison County. “We had a great first year and are looking forward to seeing more of the creative work of the students in the area”, says Gwen Childs, Executive Director.
Cash awards of $75, $50 and $25 will be presented this year for outstanding work in the show. The show will be judged by local artists and art educators. Entries should be dropped off at the arts council on Monday or Tuesday, March 4 and 5, from 11 am to 4 pm. For more information call 859-985-9317. Entry forms may be picked up at the Berea Arts Council at 444 Chestnut Street, or downloaded here:
