First “Teen Art Show” Announced!

The Berea Arts Council, for the first time, is presenting a “Teen Art Show” from April 27 through May 19. All teen artists from Madison County are invited to participate in the show. Two and three-dimensional artwork will be accepted and there is no cost to be in the show.  All artwork must be original and ready to hang or display. The three-week exhibit will include an artist reception on Saturday April 28 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

Artwork and submission form should be dropped off at the arts council on Monday or Tuesday, April 23 & 24, from 10 am to 5:00 pm. For more information call 859-985-9317.

The goal in organizing this exhibit is to showcase the work of the teens of Madison County. “We have a youth art show every year, but this is the first time that we’ve focused on the older students. We’re excited about this new showcase and I’m looking forward to seeing the creative work of the talented students in the area”, says Gwen Childs, Executive Director.

Cash awards of $75, $50 and $25 will be presented this year for outstanding work in the show. The show will be judged by local artists and art educators.

Entry forms may be picked up at the Berea Arts Council at 139 N. Broadway or downloaded here:
