Fused Glass for Absolute Beginners

9 AM – 4 PM (one hour break for lunch)

No previous experience necessary
Learn about the process of glass fusing
from design and cutting to kiln preparation. Participants will use a
glass etching process to "draw" an image in dichroic glass and then
use that image to create a fused glass pendant. Kiln firing
schedules and annealing will be covered. Each student will be able
to make two pendants or earrings. Class time is from 9 am to 4 PM.
The kiln will be fired at 4 PM. Students are able to stay for the
firing process (approx 2.5 hours). Bring a bag lunch or enjoy our
local cafes (in walking distance). For questions about the class,

Michelle Weston
earned a BFA from Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska and a
MFA from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green,
Ohio. Her glass work is exhibited in fine craft galleries
